Research interests
Dr Cedric Kechavarzi is the Training & Knowledge Transfer Manager for the Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC) in the Department of Engineering.
Cedric started his role in CSIC in January 2013. His main focus is the design and delivery of customised training programmes for industry as well as the development and publication of technical guidance documents in order to foster knowledge transfer. His current research interests are in the standardisation and development of robust distributed fibre optic strain sensing systems.

Biography
Before joining CSIC, Cedric was a Lecturer in Environmental Soil Physics and Course Director of the MSc in Environmental Engineering at Cranfield University. Prior to this appointment he worked as a Research Associate with the Geotechnical and Environmental Research Group and the BP Institute for Multiphase Flow at the University of Cambridge. He has > 50 academic related publications.
Cedric graduated in Agronomy from ISTOM (France). He also has an MSc in Soil & Water Engineering from Cranfield University and a PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Cambridge funded under a Marie-Curie Fellowship.
In 2010, he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning, Teaching and Assessment in Higher Education. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
