Most of the divisional and administrative offices are located at the Trumpington Street site, mailing address as above. The site is comprised of three buildings: the Baker building, the Inglis building, and the James Dyson Building. Visitors should report to the reception at the Baker building.
- The Energy, Fluids and Turbomachinery Division's Turbomachinery Research Group is located at the Whittle Laboratory building.
- The Electrical Engineering Division is located at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE) building, excluding the two groups performing research at the Nanoscience Centre: the Electronic Devices and Materials Group and the Nanomaterials and Spectroscopy Group.
- Most of the Civil Engineering Division, including the Divisional administration, is located in the Civil Engineering Building. The Division's Geotechnical and Environmental Research Group is located at the Schofield Centrifuge Centre.
- The Manufacturing and Management Division is located at the Alan Reece Building (also referred to as the Institute for Manufacturing).
Transport to Cambridge from London airports
- Stansted airport is nearby (30 miles), with a frequent train from the airport to Cambridge main train station (NOT Cambridge NORTH station) that takes 30 minutes. See https://www.thetrainline.com/
- Gatwick airport (90 miles) has a train option called Thameslink that is direct to Cambridge, without changes. It is direct and takes about 2 hours. Usually, there is a train every 30 minutes. See https://www.thetrainline.com/
- London City Airport (60 miles) is fast to get through and is about 90 minutes to Cambridge via Kings Cross main station by train and underground (City airport, then Docklands light railway (DLR) to Bank underground station; then Northern line to Kings Cross, then fast train (50 minutes) with only a few stops to Cambridge.
- Heathrow (70 miles) has the underground train (Piccadilly line) to Kings Cross main station. Then 50 minute train to Cambridge. In total about 2 hours.
Alternatively, Heathrow has the Heathrow Express train to Paddington station, then underground train to Kings Cross on Hammersmith and City line. Then 50 minute train to Cambridge. In total about 2 hours.
- Luton (40 miles) : slow by bus/coach to Cambridge (2 hours).
